Relationship expert Melissa Ferrari told Yahoo Lifestyle that although sleeping in seperate beds used to be considered a âred flagâ, it shouldnât mean that anything is wrong in a relationship.
She explained, âIt misses the nuances of a relationship.â
âTo be in a relationship, youâve got to make allowances, and youâve got to understand that not everything your partner does is a symbol of whether they love you or not.â
In fact, according to research from Shark, 24% of Aussie couples are sleeping separately to get a better nightâs rest.
Even though sleep expert Olivia Arezzolo agreed that sleeping in seperate beds can be extremely valuable for the quality of relationships, she warned against making it a long-term strategy, explaining:
âSleeping together supports oxytocin production, our love hormone, and that helps us feel emotionally connected.â
